Alicia Keys is a musical icon. At only 34 years old she is a multiple Grammy Award-winning singer and songwriter. Her debut album Songs in A Minor, went platinum five times over. In addition to being a musical genius she is a philanthropist. She is the co-founder of Keep A Child Alive. The work for KCA spans continents and KCA feels it’s their job to force the conversation, to keep the issue of Aids and HIV awareness in the public domain. Through their campaigns, events, and advocacy, they work to ensure the needs of people living with HIV are not forgotten. In July 2010, Keys married hip-hop producer Swizz Beatz. The couple had their first child together in October 2010, and named him Egypt Daoud Dean. The couple welcomed their second child on Dec. 27, 2014 and named their son, Genesis Ali Dean. Alicia Keys juggles being a super mom to her kids and being a superstar to her fans.
She had this to say on The Today Show:
“I really just want this song to be the dialogue that starts to ask ourselves why are we here. What are we here to do? Cause if we can start this dialogue with ourselves then that can start the bigger conversation about how we can bring change to the world.”

I've always related to what we've gone through as a humanity but when you start seeing your kids in the mix and what they are going to grow up in, what they are going to be a part of or how they can help change you get fiercer about it."
